Word-Of-The-Day: ‘(15) Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account. (16) And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgment—wickedness was there, in the place of justice—wickedness was there. (17) I said to myself, “God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.”’ (Ecclesiastes 3:15-17); ‘If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.’ (Romans 10:9)

In our society today, we see in our justice system what would be considered ‘travesties in justice’. Rulings by judges are not always (and lately it seems almost never) following the Constitution, the laws or most importantly Godly principles, but instead attempt to garner popularity to please a vocal segment of the people, though they may or may not be of the majority. As a Christian, it may seem that we who have a Biblical worldview, with conservative and ‘based’ principles, may not garner a fair shake should we find ourselves in a position involving a legal dispute.

Fortunately for the Christian, the only form of justice we need to be concerned about is the justice of God as He pronounces it upon His throne.  Unlike having a lawyer that regardless of verdict will still likely get paid, Jesus being our Intercessory (essentially our Eternal Lawyer) as a vested interest in us as His life was given for our judgement to be adjudicated as ‘Not Guilty – Sentence Served’, as Jesus served our judgement on the cross, and paid the price of being the sacrifice atoning for our sins with His blood.

The payment for Jesus from us is simply one of our acceptance of Him as our Savior.  One day we will be on trial for what we’ve done, our sins will sit in front of us like a stack of encyclopedias, and Jesus will be there, intervening on our behalf.  He will sweep the stack aside, say ‘your sins are forgiven, as I paid the price; you will join Me for Eternity.’  What a glorious day that will be!

For the non-believer, the justice of God will not go so well.  The Ultimate Sin is the rejection of Jesus as Lord and Savior, and thus the non-believer’s stack of sins in their encyclopedias will be laid there, and Jesus will not be there to intervene on their behalf.  They will bear the brunt of their sentence, the condemnation of God in not believing in Him or His Son is eternal separation from God and all things in the Lake of Fire.  An eternity of utter loneliness and despair, beyond comprehension in pain and suffering.

I pray that all of you are reading this are Followers of Christ – God loves you and calls you His children!  If you are not a believer, I have some bad news, yes God loves you. but you are not part of His family, and if death comes before you believe and accept Jesus as Lord, you will be separated by God for eternity; not of His doing but of your own stubbornness and the hardening of your heart toward Jesus.  If you’re a Follower and know someone who needs to become one, share the Gospel.  If you’re not a follower, come and ask about Him, pray for Jesus to show you His ways, and repent of all those sins – especially the one of unbelief.  It is the only ‘Get Out Of Jail Free’ card you’ll get for Eternal Life!
