UFOs? If They Exist, God Made Them!
Word-of-the-Day: ‘(1) If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lord’s people? (2) Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? (3) Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!’ (1 Corinthians 6:1-3)
One item that hit the news last week that I haven’t touched one yet, is the ‘UFO files’ released by the US Government last week. So far, there hasn’t been any ‘alien autopsy’ photos or ‘flying saucers in Hanger 87 at Groom Lake AFB (aka Area 51)’ videos that seem to have popped up, only videos and snapshots of small ‘orbs’ or ‘cylinders’ that seem to have been taken by out-of-focus Kodak disposable cameras circa 1968, though some have dates as recent as 2023. (The same cameras are used to capture Bigfoot.)
I think most are natural phenomenon, such as reflections, ball lightning/energy, or mylar balloons that some girl in Topeka let slip out of her hands at her birthday party. Things can appear to be ‘weird’ when we are moving and when the sun’s reflection (combined with possible reflections from the ocean or ground) hits such an object.
Now color me skeptical when those who state these are aliens or extraterrestrial beings from another solar system or galaxy and want to be taken seriously. We can safely assume the universe and everything in it was created at the same time. I believe it was created no more than 10,000 to 20,000 years ago, by God as provided in the Creation account of Genesis 1 and 2. If there was a ‘Big Bang’, it was God initiating it when He snapped His fingers into motion (or perhaps more accurately according to the Word, He spoke it into motion). There may or may not be other living beings in different locations throughout the universe, and if God did create them, it was for something of His purpose and should not be of great concern to us as they would have to follow His plan.
Having said that, I have grave doubts on other worlds having intelligent life like ours. If they do, and assuming the Lord created them around the same time as us, they would roughly be at the same or similar developmental levels we are; folks who can’t leave their solar system, let alone their galaxy to travel great distances in a timely fashion to the 3rd planet in the Sol System of the Milky Way Galaxy to do fly-bys, do crop circles, kill cattle without making porterhouse steaks, and avoid stopping to say ‘hello’.
Look at the Andromeda Galaxy, or M31 on the Messier catalog; one of our closest ‘peer’ galaxies, is considered 2.5 million light-years from Earth. This would mean if we aimed a beam of light at M31, it would take 2.5 million years for it to be seen by someone ‘out there’ (if the light didn’t diffuse or get blocked before it got there). Looking at M31, it is difficult to pick out individual stars, let alone any planets that are revolving around them.
Consider Earth is the only one of nine planets (including Pluto), or roughly twenty large solar objects (if you include Ceres, Pluto’s moon Charon, Saturn’s moon Titan, and a few others in the Oort Cloud beyond Pluto) that has the environment to sustain life. Even if one finds a form of life in our solar system outside of Earth, such as on or under the ice-covered Jupiter moon Europa, it would not be sentient or intelligent as we humans are.
So, we cannot detect with any great deal of certainty any form of life within our closest neighbors, our Solar System family of objects. We cannot find any detection of life within the Milky Way Galaxy, or any certainty of habitable planets within it. When we look at the Andromeda Galaxy, we cannot pinpoint any particular star, let alone a planet, and determine any sign of life in it.
While we have been transmitting radio waves since the end of the 19th century, those waves have not yet gone beyond the proximities of the closest stars, let alone broadcast anything that would reach out to M31. We just had some probes, such as Pioneer 10 and 11, Voyager 1 and 2, and New Horizons just enter interstellar space after breaking through the sun’s heliosphere surrounding the Solar System, after their launches in the 1970s and 1980’s. We never detected anything emanating from other stars or galaxies that would show it came from an intelligent society.
Again, considering a slight possibility of a society developing outside of Earth on a similar scale outside of our galaxy, it would take at least 2.5 million years for it to reach us. So, there is no way, in my educated opinion, that an extraterrestrial society, if they indeed exist, would know we are here, and vice versa. So don’t lose sleep that a snaggle-toothed Predator, acid-dripping Xenomorph, or fuzzy-looking Alf is coming to eat at your local burger joint any time soon. I don’t believe God created any such being, so no need for us to learn to speak Klingon (‘Nouk Nek, Tar-rang-gon.’)
What God has created are interdimensional beings, residing in realms that the Earth shares. We do know that God created all kinds of celestial beings to serve Him, archangels, angels, cherubim, seraphim, and of course we humans and the other forms of life that reside on Earth. There may be other such beings that God created that are not documented or seen in the Biblical record.
We can mathematically provide, through the Unified Force theory, of up to 20 different dimensions as that is what it takes to unify the forces of Gravity, Electromagnetism, Weak Nuclear, and Strong Nuclear. (I promise I won’t geek out beyond this.) Knowing that through the use of space telescopes, the realm of Heaven is not out in space, so we can assume that the realm of Heaven, and the realm of Hell, are outside of our dimensional realm of Earth, knowing they exist but in different dimensions in relationship to ours through the provision of the account of the Transfiguration in the Gospels.
Jesus, Peter, John and James all when up to a high mountain (many believe it was the Mount of Olives), and while up there, Jesus was ‘transfigured’ into a radiant, white being wearing white robes, accompanied with two men, Elijah and Moses, and all were enveloped by a cloud. God spoke to the group, telling the Apostles to ‘Listen to My Son!’, before the cloud disappeared and Jesus returned to appearing normal, and Elijah and Moses were gone.
The Transfiguration was most likely an opening into the Heavenly realm, or dimension, where God, with Jesus, and where Elijah and Moses now reside. This allowed Peter, James and John the ability to temporarily see into the Heavenly realm and to see Jesus in His true form. The Ascension of Jesus was also Him leaving our realm into the Heavenly realm, in front of the Apostles and disciples who were there.
We unfortunately can surmise this is where Satan and his fallen angels reside as well, not in the Heavenly realm but the realm of Hell. We know that they are not physically in (as we can perceive) in the four dimensions of Earth that we live in (the four dimensions being Height, Width, Depth, and Time). They can interact, influence, and interfere in our Earthly realm.
They can manifest themselves into our realm, as the fallen angels had ‘relations’ with human women as stated in Genesis 6, when the Nephilim were created any likely carried in part by ‘DNA’ through the flood and finally ending the final remnants in the death of the giants of Gath (Goliath, Lathi, and three others) by David and his men in the books of 1 & 2 Samuel. So, demons have the ability to enter our realm to cause havoc, as Jesus did and His angels can do to alleviate havoc.
Could UFOs be of the Spiritual realms coming in and out of our Earthly realm? That is more of a possibility than some grey bubble-headed bubba coming to get ground beef to make a burger from a cow in a Utah grazing field. Not all may be malevolent, but it can be something Satan will try to use to deceive the people. Many theorize it could be how the Rapture, whether it occurs pre-, mid-, or post-Tribulation, could be attempted to be explained away to those who don’t know the Lord and are left behind.
Remember, no matter what sensational news comes out regarding UFOs, it doesn’t change the facts of the Bible. If it exists, God created it. He has a purpose for everything that He created, whether it is the little rock beyond Pluto named Arrokoth (that was discussed in a previous Word-of-the-Day) or the heavenly host that surrounds Him.
We who are Faithful to Him, are held above all that He has created, even higher than the angels when we ourselves transform from moral to immortal (1 Corinthians 6:1-3). This includes the celestial beings who serve Him, as we are also His servants, and of all of His Creation, we are entrusted with Free Will, the freedom to choose between our way or His Way, and thus choose the consequences found in either choice, good or bad.
So do not be surprised or alarmed when revelations such as these are made; God will continue to be in control, Jesus will continue to be our Savior, and the Holy Spirit will continue to indwell within us to give us clear guidance and clarity when Satan attempts to deceive us. Stay firm in the Faith, and know all is within God’s design and plan.
