Pick a truth, any truth…
The lie of the enemy to our culture today is that you can define your own truth. As said before, this is simply a restating of the lie given to Eve in the Garden. As people define “their own truth,” what they don’t understand or realize is that this is simply one of the lanes of the broad way that leads to destruction. There cannot not logically be various truths by different individuals, just as various religious groups cannot have competing views of who Jesus is. Only one can be accurate, so all the rest are falsehoods and lies. We cannot have Jesus as the Son of God, the Second Person of the Trinity and at the same time some other group believe he is the brother of Satan.
These two ideas are incompatible and only one can be accurate and truthful. The same is true in how sexuality is viewed. We cannot have some in the church define sex as created and defined by God, while others who call themselves the church declare that individuals can define sex however it suits them. These are simply two examples of instances where the narrow way is God-ordained and defined, while the broad way is open to the interpretation and even creation of man.
I again recommend to you the book, The Desecration of Man by Carl Trueman, to help you gain greater insight and understanding into what has occurred in our culture. And the end gives an antidote for a culture that is hell-bent with all haste down the broad way of destruction.
Pressing on…
