God Is In Control
I know that the Lord is great, that our Lord is greater than all gods. (6) The Lord does whatever pleases Him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths. (7) He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth; He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.
Psalm 135:5-7
The only person people should cede control to is God! Note that it’s not a “ceding” of control, as God has the control anyway. However, in our flesh we see things from the human perspective, things that we can control – or cede control. Things that are immediate to us. We need to always, as Christians, keep in the forefront that when we accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, we acknowledged God’s control over all things, a control he has always had.
The issues facing the US and the world today stem from people having forgotten that God is in control. In post-Constitutional America, with the moral righteousness of God’s Word no longer on the lips of the elected officials, the people – having control over the government through God’s providence – have pushed aside God’s Word for the politicians’ gain in power, in greed, and control.
The fix for this is simple: stand up for God, stand up for His principles, and quit ceding control to others. And acknowledge that only God has control. He always had and always will have control. If you do control anything, it is He who has given that to you.
