white robbed saints going to heaven

December 24 – Day 25

Revelation 22:12-20

“Then I was told:  I am coming soon! And when I come, I will reward everyone for what they have done (v.12). I am Alpha and Omega, The first and the last, the beginning and the end (v.13). God will bless all who have washed their robes. They will each have the right to eat fruit from the tree of life, and they can enter the gates of the city (v.14). The Spirit and the Bride say, Come! Everyone who hears this should say, Come! If you are thirsty, come!  If you want life-giving water, come and take it. It’s free (v.17). The One who has spoken these things says, I am coming soon!” So, Lord Jesus, please come soon! (v. 20)”

We can see from these scriptures that we, as believers, have been blessed beyond measure for God’s graciousness to us. We are told:

  • He is coming soon, for us.
  • He will bring us a reward for our deeds.
  • He blesses us with robes washed, free of sin.
  • We will have privileges – to eat from the Tree of Life.
  • We may enter the gates of His city.
  • We have the joy of giving others the invitation to “Come!”  accept the salvation Jesus offers with its life-giving water – it’s free.
  • The promise that He, Jesus, is coming soon.

…And there is more! I Corinthians 2:9 tells us, “But as it is written:  Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

So, what is our part?  First we need to have a relationship with God.  Having that relationship is only accomplished through His Son, Jesus Christ who died, was buried and rose again in order to pay the price for our sin to even make that relationship with God possible. Accept this free gift of forgiveness!  So then, how do we prepare ourselves for the Second Advent? Simply put, we must live in readiness for His coming. Spiritual preparedness is a must. Here are just a few suggestions:

  • Keep communicating with the Father.  Talk to Him through prayer.
  • Never forget to confess those sins that crop up.  Confession for forgiveness keeps our heart pure.
  • Stay alert – standing strong in your faith by studying His Word.
  • Keep your spiritual passion alive and well – stay in fellowship with other believers.
  • Live like today were the day of His Coming – be aware of the signs that tell you the time is near.
  • Finish the mission He has laid on your heart to complete – share your faith with others.

See you in Heaven, if not before!
