Chaos To Us Is The Order Of Things To God

Word-Of-The-Day: ‘But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when He comes, those who belong to Him.’ (1 Corinthians 15:23)

As I look out the window and see a sunny day today, with the outdoor thermometer providing an Arctic-like sub-70 degree reading (62 – brrrrr!) here in southwest Florida.  I’m expecting an Inuit hunting party to come down our street, chasing a polar bear or a caribou amidst the palmettos and pines.  Obviously, this will not likely occur; I’m more likely to see the neighborhood rabbit (who we’ve named ‘Hassenpfeffer’) come out to eat the remnants of our delicious weeds growing in our back yard, as he tends to do on a routine basis, even in cooler conditions like today.

In modern scientific speak, the reason I’m more apt to see ole’ Hassie the rabbit and not a polar bear here in Florida is Chaos, or the Chaotic Theory.  We think of ‘chaos’ as being random, unrelated events but there is actually a rhythm of the events that puts random items in their proper settings, even though it appears that these things happen for no reason at all.  Hence, the polar bears are in the Arctic where it is cold,  rabbits are between the Arctic and Antarctic regions, alligators and iguanas are in warm climates, etc.  Earth and the other planets are in their orbits exactly where they are supposed to be in apparent happenstance, but they follow a pattern to be exactly where they needed to be.

Science calls this happenstance of order Chaos; we as Christians have another name for it, Creation.  Seemingly unrelated actions came together to form all things and place them in their proper place; those unrelated actions came together through God’s handiwork make the Heavens and Earth.  Science, whether those who study it want to admit it or not, is man’s exploration into and discovery of God’s knowledge.  We who are Christians know the rhythm or pattern behind the Chaos is God’s will, His plan for all things He created.

Now we have seen in recent years man’s attempts in science being seen as ‘sacrosanct’ or it is to be unquestioned.  Anthropologic (man-made) climate change, modern ‘vaccines’ (therapeutics), genetic manipulation – the people are being told to accept the science without question; but as mentioned previously science, being an effort by man, is full of errors and needs to be questioned.  Sometimes, in the words of Happy Gilmore, ‘the price (or the science) is wrong, Bob’.  But while the science can be wrong, we as Christians know God is always right and His Creation is perfect!

There is an order of things that God has provided to complete His Creation, which He has seen it’s completion to fruition (He being without time constraints), but which we are experiencing right now.  Dr. Charles Stanley best describes this in his Redemption outline.  Genesis 1 and 2 are ‘Redemption Planned’, Genesis 3 through 11 are ‘Redemption Needed’, Genesis 12 through Malachi 4 are ‘Redemption Prepared For’, Matthew 1 through John 21 (the Gospels) are ‘ Redemption Achieved’, Acts 1-28 is the ‘History of Redemption’, Romans 1 through Jude is ‘Redemption Explained’, and Revelation 1 through 22 is ‘Redemption Consummated/Completed’.

The order of Redemption is for man to be reconciled with God through Jesus.  Jesus needed to be redeemed first, through His life and then death before being resurrected.  Once He overcame death, Jesus could then carry us to the Father for Redemption as well.  Isaiah 49:15-16 tells us that Jesus, through the nail scars within the palms of His hands, has those of us who have accepted Him as our Lord permanently inscribed so He would never forget or forsake us.  When He returns to redeem His church, those scars from His crucifixion bear the names of those who accepted His sacrifice, and then we too will be redeemed as we go join with Him.

God’s plan of Redemption has always been a part of His Creation; His order of things is for man to be reconciled back to Him through Jesus.  The best and only answer of the scientific theory of Chaos is God’s plan of Redemption; what we perceive in our limited minds as random events are structured and ordered in the outline of God’s work, all performing exactly what was, is, and will be necessary to perform. What we need to do is to continue to do that which Jesus has asked; continue to do Great Commission things through our gifts, and through our time, talents, and treasures to help others be part of God’s Redemption plan.
