New Members

Welcome to Murdock Baptist Church!  Thank you for being here and worshiping with us!

As you enter the church, you will be met by greeters who are ready with a smile to answer questions you might have and welcome you to worship.

We are excited you have been attending and now you want to know more about planting yourself here in the family of Murdock Baptist, to serve and be a part of the Kingdom of God who gather here.  So what are the steps to being a member?

• We are looking for those who join Murdock to be children of God and have obediently followed in believer’s baptism.  So part of the membership process is to sit down with one of our elders and share how you came to faith in Jesus, how that is working out in your life presently and about your baptism.  Believer’s baptism is the identification of a person who has been saved by the grace of God and is now declaring their relationship with Jesus.  We do this by immersion.  If you have been baptized in this manner elsewhere, we want to know about it. 
• We have a new member’s class where you learn about our church and how we function, but also about ways you can serve within the family.  You will receive a copy of the Constitution and By-Laws.  We ask that you read through the Statement of Faith in particular and let us know you are in agreement.  As Pastor Ron tells the class, if you have been here 3-4 months, there isn’t anything in the Statement of Faith that will surprise you.
• After these two steps are complete (in no particular order), you are presented to the church at the next quarterly church conference for the approval of the church into membership.
• Part of the process of joining Murdock is to connect and grow in your relationship with the Lord and with fellow believers.  The two main ways this happens is through Life Groups and serving alongside others.  Let us know how we can help you in this process.
