Stay In Awe Of God’s Creation

Word-Of-The-Day: ‘<The 24 Elders said, in bowing down to God,> “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being.”’ (Revelation 4:11); ‘For this is what the Lord says— He who created the heavens, He is God; He who fashioned and made the earth, He founded it; He did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited— He says: “I am the Lord, and there is no other.”’ (Isaiah 45:18)

I recently saw some images that were captured by the James Webb telescope, which is replacing the old Hubble telescope and is leaps and bounds better in depth and clarity in capturing the details of heavenly objects many light-years away, outside of our solar system and in some cases outside of our Milky Way galaxy.   A very recent picture taken by the Webb telescope is on an object called the ‘Pillars of Creation’.

The ‘Pillars’ are over 4 light-years in length; in perspective the Sun’s distance from Earth is 8 light-minutes (it takes 8 minutes for the Sun’s light to reach Earth).  It would take 4 years, at ‘lightspeed’ (186,000 miles per second) to go from the ‘bottom’ to the ‘top’ of the leftmost and longest ‘pillar’.  If one wanted to hop in their SpaceX rocket and go visit the ‘Pillars’, it is 6,500 light years away, close to the Eagle Nebula.  (Pack some food in a cooler, as there are no McDonald’s along the way to stop at.)

God’s power is limitless, His reach is infinite.  His Creation is everywhere we see, and everywhere beyond or below what we cannot see.  We often only see what is in front of us, and as things transpire in front of us we often attribute things as ‘natural’ as they occur.  In a certain aspect they are, the grass growing taller, the sunlight getting brighter through the day, dimmer and then out by evening; but the Lord put this all into motion.  We see in front of us what we have but outside of our perception are things that we are occurring that we would never think our affecting our lives, but God in His perfect wisdom did and has them in motion.  The Moon’s tidal effects, for example are very important to maintain the viability of Earth’s atmosphere and oceans to sustain life.

The infinitesimal influence something ‘way out there’ like the ‘Pillars’ is something we may not consider, but God had to in order for life as He created here to exist.  The ‘why’ may not be ever discovered by man but there is a reason for them, and all other things like them to exist.  While it may not be something that affects us in our daily lives, all that which is interstellar all the way down to the infinitesimal atomic particle is in place per God’s design.  There is more than ‘meets the eye’ to consider, as even in the mundane, God is there.  Never give up that childlike passion to be awed by the greatness of our God!
