Nations Will Follow God – Or Will Face Ruin

Word-of-the-Day: ‘For the nation or kingdom that will not serve <God> will perish; it will be utterly ruined.’ (Isaiah 60:12)

Following up on the previous Word-of-the-Day, we who are Faithful Believers in Christ must understand and realize that there will come a time when all Christians will be persecuted.  Up until the turning of the new millennium in 2001, we (those of us who were around prior to the end of the twentieth century) thought that the Western, First-World nations in Europe and North America (the United States and Canada) would be bastions of freedom, and nations that would at least continue to follow Biblical principles of decency, ethics, and law & order.

Unfortunately, we did not try to fix the cracks that had already appeared in our societies; pornography, open sexuality, and the promotion of vices and selfishness.  After the surprise attack on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington D.C., we then focused not on the enemies to remove them from our nation, but we talked ourselves into a false virtue by tolerating them and their sinful acts, allowing them to flourish.

In part it was ensuring foreign religions could flourish, and in part it was allowing deviancies to take center stage.  Some denominations permitted ‘wokeness’ to come into their teachings and their pulpit, and the eternal message of God’s perfection was no longer good enough to follow.  Instead, God’s Word had to change to follow the desires of these apostates.  Today in Canada, for example, teaching Biblical truths in the church can violate their national laws on tolerance; the state will not tolerate the Truth of the Bible as it is incompatible with their adherence to holding onto false values of their improper virtue.

Our false virtue-signaling guilted the people of their native lands to accept foreigners who were incompatible with their culture and would not attempt to assimilate within it.  In Great Britain, the native English have had their culture and patriotism to it criminalized, while the promotion of Islamic, Hindu and Sikh cultures brought by foreigners are given carte-blanche to brutalize the English; a quarter million English women have been raped with many of the culprits allowed to roam free, and the Englishmen who would defend them are either murdered or neutered through criminalizing self-defense or defending others from such violent acts.

In the US, we have covered before the problems and effects that uncheckered immigrants have brought.  We are told to be tolerant while enclaves of Islamic communities will not allow Christians to live or worship within them.  Our political parties continue to slip more toward socialism, a direct result of the influence of the wave of influence of those who came from outside the US.

On the cusp of America’s Semiquincentennial (250th) Anniversary of our founding, we find that overall patriotism and pride of our nation have fallen dramatically since the 9/11 attack; a recent Newsweek article states only 51% of Americans have national pride in being American, and 68% of Americans believe our freedoms will soon evaporate as our culture is overcome by these foreign influences.  There is little faith in our institutions and our economic infrastructure.  For some, the 250th birthday of America is feeling more like an afterthought or a wake then a celebration.

We question why this darkness is enveloping us, and we have the answers, but we seem to fear the efforts it takes to resolve the issues we have.  Isaiah 60 tells the answer is simply returning back to the precepts of God, to obey Him and properly place Him at the forefront of our thoughts and deeds.  We need to return to God and follow His Son in order for His light to pierce this darkness.

It means to place sin back in its proper place, behind us and out of the spotlight, to have our wayward Christian brothers and sisters to return God back onto His throne in their lives and the lives of their churches, to allow God to lead and follow Him, and not pretend God will follow their desires.  Will we cannot deny those who follow a different religious path to do so, we must be steadfast that they cannot change American culture and its Christian-based virtues and customs, and that it is not the ‘equality of outcomes’ socialism proclaims but the ‘equality of opportunities’ that only capitalism offers that brings prosperity.

Isaiah 60 was written as a warning for the Israelite nations to follow God or face great ruin and hardship, and Isaiah 60:12 says as much.   We know, through the history of the Jewish nations in the Old Testament, that they failed to follow God and the end result was their downfall and eventually becoming a vassal state for foreigners who came in and ruled over them, eventually scattering them to the four corners of the earth.

It may be too late for Britain and other European nations, but it may not be too late for the US to reverse course, and remove God’s curse of a nation failing to follow Him, replacing it with God’s blessings upon a nation committed to His Word.  Do your part; commit to prayer, fellowship, and study the Bible to gain His knowledge and strengthened by His Spirit to be obedient to Jesus.  Share Jesus’ Gospel message and build His Kingdom by increasing His flock, and never tolerate sinful actions that go against His Word.  Our nation depends on these actions, else it will collapse and perish like many nations, who also forgot the Lord, before it.
