God Makes ‘Diversity, Inclusion, & Equity’ Holy, Not ‘Woke’

Word-Of-The-Day: ‘(9) After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. (10) And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”.’ (Revelation 7:9-10)

There has been much about the ‘woke’ world, with its push on ‘DIE’, or Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity.  Being aligned to secular worldviews , DIE is often maligned and rightfully so, as it depicts lies and falsehoods, such as the recent Google Gemini AI issues with generating incorrect and inaccurate representations of historical figures whether by incorrectly depicting their sex or their racial makeup.  Products and organizations also have cost themselves immensely be incorrectly gauging public reactions in the acceptance of such ‘DIE’ topics as gender and sexual fluidity, police defunding, and decriminalization of illegal activities.  Almost all of these are based on the lie the secular worldview brings against Godly principles and morals.

However, in the Biblical worldview, we also find ‘DIE’.  But in the Bible, we see that when God provides ‘Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity’, it is a holy and just application.  In Revelation 7:9-10, we find a multitude of people before the throne of Jesus.  The multitude is comprised of every race, color and creed and each are equal in voice and task; all are dressed in white robes, waving palm branches, and praising God and Jesus for their Salvation and Jesus’ sacrifice upon the cross.  There is no segregation within the ranks of the multitude, only holy diversity as all are together, equal in the eyes of Jesus.

This holy ‘DIE’ extends to social and financial status, as in James 2 we are told not to give favoritism to the ‘sharped-dressed-man’ over the ‘dirty-disheveled’ bum on the street.  Jesus hung out and ate dinner with those who were poor; poor in spirit, poor in food or finance, or poor in health.  There are both those who are wealthy and who are poor, who worship the Lord with equal love and fervor.  To Jesus these people are equal, though to the world they greatly differ.  Colossians 1 tells us that Jesus holds all things together, even people who seem to be very disparate yet are like ‘twins’ as they are of equal footing as children of God, and in Colossians 3 there are no differences Jesus sees, only that He is with all and through the Holy Spirit in all equally.

We are commanded by Jesus, in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) to, like Jesus, ignore the differences; we are to share the Gospel and witness to anyone and everyone about the Good News of Jesus Christ.  There is no one we are told to avoid or ignore in our obedience to provide the Gospel; we are to provide His Word to all.

We are not the same, whether in physical abilities or personalities and traits, but we are to come together to comprise the body of the church.  This body is grafted together; to God’s family tree and to each other component.  This is the True and Holy ‘DIE’ program that the Lord has implemented.  If the ‘woke’ claims something to do something good, remember God always does it perfect and holy!
