Don’t Fall For The Plausible Lie, Seek The Truth To Avoid The Trap
Word-Of-The-Day: ‘”…no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from Me.”, declares the LORD.’ (Isaiah 54:17)
It is being said by many that ‘you can’t hate the news media enough’, as day after day the objectivity of the truth falls to the subjectivity of the opinions of the journalists and news anchors who report the news to the public. There are many videos showing several dozens local and national news shows stating in unison the script of a false narrative provided to them by a central source, a mantra of lies and half-truths chanted to the unsuspecting populace to sway the mindset of the viewers to follow a preferred course of political or societal direction for the sake of control by a few.
The agenda for such news reporting is not always quite clear. Items like ‘climate change’, ‘healthcare revamping’, criminal reform’, or ‘economic resetting’ have been long-term phrases used by the mainstream media and liberal political sources, with concerning, plausible-sounding statements on each, but each without verifiable facts. ‘Trust the science’, for example, is a soundbite, that after many such plausible claims sounds very reassuring, except when the statements made with the soundbite cannot be verified, what scientific substance within the unverifiable claim can be trusted?
Such propaganda has been levied against people since Satan tempted Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, in Genesis 3. The well-told and plausible-sounding lie is a weapon used against men, to turn us away from God and His Holiness, to prevent us from acting Righteous. In Genesis 3, the serpent told several half-truths, at first to Eve about the forbidden fruit on the Tree of Knowledge (of Good and Evil).
She, of course, misrepresented God’s command by expanding His edict to ‘Don’t touch the tree’, which God did not say to Adam (the command was only not to eat the fruit), so the enticement by Satan to eat the fruit was likely emboldened by her touching the tree, and, not dying at the touch of the tree, gave her the impetus to pick and eat the fruit. Adam then was emboldened when Eve didn’t die and so he also ate the fruit, thus both fell hook, line, and sinker to the plausible-sounding lie of the serpent, Satan. His half-truth was they didn’t die on the spot, but it did take away their innocence and opened them, and their descendants (which include us) up to the physical death of their bodies.
The plausible-sounding statements of half-truths and outright lies have been plaguing mankind ever since. Throughout the Bible, we find such examples, one being Queen Jezebel obtained land for her husband, King Ahab by falsely accusing the land’s owner, Naboth, of blasphemy against both God and King, even though she was having God’s prophets and priests slaughtered (1 Kings 21). Of course, the Pharisees accusing Jesus of blasphemy and treason in order to crucify Him was based also on lies in order to have the Roman governor Pilate execute Jesus.
Much of what the news media states today is subjective opinion, not objective facts. The news is used to push an agenda of the secular worldview, away from the Truth of the Biblical Worldview. It paints the Righteous as uneducated, lacking wisdom, and believing in a ‘fairy tale’ of a long-dead messiah. However, they also paint their path as one leading to ‘utopia’, though we find that without God as the ‘end game’ to their journey, the pain and suffering of their ungodly agenda increases the further down the pathway they, and the people they unwittingly dupe, travel.
When confronted with facts, the media and its pundits often push back, sometimes with violence and vindictiveness. We saw this during COVID, when those who opposed the vaccinations were threatened, and for many were punished for their opposition, through de-banking (loss of bank accounts and credit), deplatforming (removal from social media platforms), and the loss of employment. The assassination of Charlie Kirk was from those who opposed his vocal proclamations of Righteous viewpoints and open challenges to the ‘woke’ and secular viewpoints through live debates.
The portrayal of ‘political correctness’ and the curtailment of Freedom of Speech through prosecution of subjective ‘hate speech’ or ‘wrongthink’ is all part of this narrative to make what is wrong be considered right and proper; and what is Righteous, Truthful, and correct as being wrong. It is exactly what took place back in Genesis 3, a plausible-sounding false narrative that tricks people into falling for the lie, used as the most lethal weapon to kill and causing mass suffering of all men.
But God tells us repeatedly throughout the Bible, one such statement in Isaiah 54:17, that for the Righteous in God who follow and obey His Word that ‘no weapon against <His people> will prevail. This does not mean we won’t always experience harm, ridicule, or persecution; it does mean that we will receive ultimate vindication through our Salvation – eternal life full of blessings with our Lord Jesus, vice an eternal life full of woe without Him.
It is not for us to ‘go with the flow’ for expediency and comfort, but to fight back and confront the lies of the enemy. It may mean we suffer in some form or fashion for proclaiming and evangelizing the Gospel of Jesus openly and publicly. It may mean one day we are persecuted, ridiculed, harassed, and arrested for the crime of speaking the Truth, rather that kowtowing the plausible-sounding falsehood. Always remember, though, we are to stand firm upon God’s Word and be obedient to Him. Be courageous, and fear the consequences of Righteousness and God more than the consequences of evil and men.
