Cindy’s Testimonial
It took a death to turn my life around
I’m the oldest of four sibling. My parents divorced when I was 8 years old making my mom’s plate full working outside of the home & caring for four small children. Our family didn’t go to church however our neighbors took us. At eleven I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart.
In my adolescent years our mom remarried providing a loving step-dad which was from Cuba. I was very headstrong during this time because it was all about me. My walk with Jesus was broken & I had fallen out of fellowship
As a young adult I married for all the wrong reasons. With the marriage only lasting 1 1/2 years.
My current husband Bob & I both rebounded out of bad relationships; however, God opened my eyes & I felt compassion for this Dad who was taking care of his infant son. Love bloomed and after knowing each other for only 3 months we married. We had a son together, raised two boys which are now 43 & 40 and God has blessed us with 4 healthy grandkids (two boys & two girls). We recently celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary. However, My heart cry is for my husband & our sons & their families to walk with the Lord.
Through the years I would attend church off and on – however nothing consistent. Then when my cousin’s daughter died due to pulmonary embolism (blood clot) at the age 19 – everything changed. Elaine was a basketball player in college & had this scripture written on her basketball shoes – “Philippians 3:14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” God opened my heart, soul to what he had done in Elaine’s short life as she had lead so many people to Jesus. That’s when I totally rededicated my life to Jesus.
God answered my prayer through his forgiveness of my sins with the weight of my shame being lifted – as I had experimtented with ALL the world had to offer however I was empty inside. No matter what I have done, the truth is GOD LOVES ME. I praise God for the Christians He placed in my life – especially my grandmother Oletta Taylor (she always had her Bible open).
I now see how God shaped me through all my adversities in that I’m able to help others going through the same situations by showing them His grace & mercy. God has led me to different ministries; like Pregnancy Center, where I counseled abortion minded women; starting a Women’s Home Bible Study in our neighborhood and God laid on my heart to be a part of the Cuba mission team.
I choose daily to pick up my cross, again & again, and follow Him. I’M ALL IN.
Can I share with you how you too can have a personal relationship w/Jesus Christ.
