What is CarePortal?

CarePortal is an online platform that uses local agencies to vet needs of children & families in crisis and then accelerates connections between churches. Many of these families do not have a strong community around them, and this gives the church the opportunity to step up and surround them with God’s compassion.

How CarePortal Works?

CarePortal is the connection point between families in crisis and the local church.  CarePortal makes local churches aware, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond. As needs are uncovered, social workers & agencies can submit requests through the CarePortal to have those needs met. Once submitted, those needs are communicated to a point person in the local church, who then shares the needs with their church body.

Why CarePortal Was Created?

After a decade of caring for orphans around the world, The Global Orphan Project created CarePortal in 2015 as a tool to mobilize U.S. churches to care for vulnerable families and children in their own backyards.

How Can YOU Help with CarePortal?

There are three types of potential responders in a church; Givers, Gathers and Go’ers. Those who like to fund (Givers), those who like to gather the supplies/ physical items (Gathers) and those who want to go and meet the family and be the face of the church (Go’ers). There’s a place for everyone within CarePortal.  To learn more contact Cindy Howell or Shelley Girling.

Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

CarePortal

The team wants to thank our church and members for their prayers and support in filling our first request. Our goal is to keep kids within our Murdock steeple with their families. We have the opportunity to make a connection with these families not just meeting their needs, but sharing Jesus with them, praying over them, and inviting them to church.
