A Battle Was Won, But The War Rages On – Be Strong & Courageous and Let’s Stand Together!

Word-Of-The-Day: ‘Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.’ (1 Corinthians 16:13); ‘It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.’ (Galatians 5:1)

Even though it appears with the election of our ‘old’ new President that the United States is starting a return to common sense and Godly decency, there is still a ‘war’ of sorts being waged by those who radically stand upon and vehemently support the ‘woke’, ungodly, secular agenda.  Despite the consensus of the majority of Americans repudiating them in the last election; the ‘old guard’ of the ‘woke’, including the liberal members of Congress and the judiciary, the shrinking-but-still-majority of the American media, and the global ‘new world order’ left, are still fighting to slow down and stymie the move toward a more-balanced, fair, unbiased, and corrupt-free American society.

There continues to be violent and defiant acts by the ‘woke’ harming those who stand for the return of Godly and traditionally American principles.  The hope of these ‘domestic terrorists’ is to stop the arrest and deportation of illegal immigrants (especially those who are part of the murderous gangs from Central and South America), stop the discovery and ending of fraud, waste, and abuse in our government institutions, and stop the end of the mutilation (under the guise of ‘gender fluidity’) of our children.

The terror, from raining insults of ‘racist’ and homophobic’ to those standing for Godly principles and the rule of law to outright destruction of property and even causing injury and murder, is to have those of us who are Christian and who stand for common sense and decency, to pause or weaken our stance and resolve.  But instead, we are called to stand strong in our Faith when facing such attacks.

Standing strong in the Faith, or not, does not affect the Lord in what He will accomplish; He will gain a way to perform which He wants to perform whether we are on board or not.  However, it will affect you as a believer.  This is not to say you’ll lose your gift of Salvation, as once you are saved you are sealed by Christ as His for all time.  It is also easier to stand together with others in Faithful Fellowship, other Christians who also will act in unison and come together – in times of trouble as well as times of success, but always watchful in anticipation of our Lord.

God calls upon us to be strong and courageous in times of trouble and uncertainty; He repeatedly told this to Joshua as they took over the Promised Land (Joshua 1:6, 7, 9), and later Joshua told this to the Israelites.  To be strong and courageous you must have Faith in Christ to overcome the fear, to understand that God is with you, and that if it is God’s will, that He will lead to through the roughs and valleys as well as the peaks and plains of life.

When we succumb to fear, it becomes our master.  We often sin because we fear, not wanting to ‘lose face’; we want to be popular and be part of the ‘in’ crowd’ so we lie about our Faith to look better, or enter into forms of debauchery because ‘the cool kids are doing it’.  God says don’t be slaves to sin or to fear, but stand up for your principles, which as a believer are God’s principles.  We must place our Faith that the Lord is with us, that He would not forsake us, that He is a God of ‘Promises Kept’.

That great theologian of the 1960s, Janis Joplin, once sang ‘freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose’, and she was right in this case (always remember, broken clocks are right twice a day, as well).  Freedom is nothing left to lose when you believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, as He will not allow you to lose that which is Eternal – our being with Him for all Eternity.  This freedom means there is nothing on this world or plane of existence that is worth keeping; it can all go away and you will still have Jesus.

You have nothing to fear in losing what you have in this world; your house, your cars, your 401k’s, your health; everything in this world will be taken from you at some point.  We all hope that it is when the Lord calls us home, but circumstances can happen when it may go before then.  In either scenario, know that none of your possessions have any meaning when it comes to Eternity with Jesus.  So why fear?

Yes, we need to be concerned and prepared for troubled times as the Lord demonstrates with Noah and Proverbs 6:6-8 (the Lesson of the Ants), to be ready when troubles come, but there should be no fear of the future as Faith must be present.  Be prepared for the possibility that if you lose everything on Earth, you have and always will have Jesus for Eternity!   The realization of this, in Faith, is the ultimate conqueror of fear!
